Updating your beneficiary designation

Designating your beneficiary(ies) is an important part of your enrolment in YOUR BENEFITS. By completing the beneficiary designation process and keeping your records up to date, you:

  • Have control and security. You decide where your benefit payments will go and make sure that your loved ones have financial protection in the event of your death.
  • Avoid estate probates. Estate taxes can be a big expense and slow down how quickly your loved ones get the money.
  • Make sure your benefit payments go straight to your loved ones. The money goes directly to the people you named and is safe from creditors.
